Dr. Michelle Turner -- Founder and President of Loop Environmental -- has 25 years’ experience working in environmental regulatory compliance, public health, and sustainability. She began her career at Radian International in El Segundo, California, providing environmental consulting services to Fortune 500 clients in a wide range of industries, with a focus on health risk assessment and air quality permitting and regulatory compliance.
After completing her doctoral studies, as an Assistant Professor in UCLA’s School of Public Health she taught and performed research focused on air pollution impacts on health. Following her time in academia, Dr. Turner joined the sustainability data management firm Source Intelligence, where she designed and led supply chain compliance programs focused on conflict minerals and restricted substances. She also provided environmental, health and safety consulting services, including management systems development and auditing, for a variety of companies in the aerospace, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and recycling industries.

Most recently, Dr. Turner worked for the non-profit Clean Production Action, where she managed the GreenScreen® for Safer Chemicals program. In addition to leading technical development of the GreenScreen® chemical hazard assessment method, Dr. Turner interfaced with organizations to promote use of safer chemicals in product design, procurement and specification processes.
Dr. Turner obtained a Ph.D. in Public Health, Epidemiology; a M.S. in Environmental Health Sciences; and a B.S. in Geography/Ecosystems -- all from UCLA. She also holds a Certificate in Sustainable Business Practices from UCSD.
